Startup Canada and TruShield Insurance launched the Entrepreneur Success Fund, to invest in solutions to promote entrepreneur success across Canada.
The Fund is an initiative of Startup Canada’s Entrepreneur Success Advisory Council in partnership with TruShield Insurance, composed of entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders and industry leaders from across Ontario, who advise on research and investment initiatives to advance the conditions for entrepreneurial success.
“Entrepreneurial success is about freedom, independence, solving problems, creating jobs, growing revenue, making an impact, and building a better tomorrow,” said Melloney Campbell, Entrepreneur and Member of the Advisory Council. “But, the road to success is not guaranteed, with four out of five businesses failing in the first five years.”
The Entrepreneur Success Fund will invest grants up to $2,500 in existing tools, technologies and programs that support entrepreneur access to information, training, mentorship, capital and connectivity to corporate Canada, and initiatives that have the potential to benefit more entrepreneurs through leveraging the Startup Canada network to scale.
“A thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem that supports entrepreneurial success necessitates connectivity,” said Victoria Lennox, CEO of Startup Canada. “This fund will build capacity across Canada’s entrepreneurship community and help proven solutions scale, boosting the success of entrepreneurs across Canada.”
“When emerging enterprises and large corporations work together, innovation happens and ideas can reach new markets,” said Tony O’Brien, Executive Vice President, TruShield Insurance. “That’s why TruShield Insurance is proud to partner with Startup Canada to support the success of every entrepreneur by investing the Capital and national network to reach more entrepreneurs.”
Applications for the Entrepreneur Success Fund are due by August 31, 2018, at 11:59 pm PT. For more information and to apply, visit: www.startupcan.ca/entrepreneur-success-fund/. Fund recipients will be announced on October 18, 2018 at Startup Canada Day on the Hill in Ottawa.
